José Mestre was a man notable for having a 40 cm (16 in) and 5 kg (11 lb) haemangioma tumor on his face, which began developing when he was 14. He did not receive treatment initially due to medical misinformation, misdiagnosis, financial issues, and religious beliefs. In 2010, he underwent surgery to remove the tumor and reconstruct his face. A documentary about his life, titled 'The Man with No Face', was aired in 2007.
