José Manuel Garza Rendón, also known as La Brocha, is a Mexican convicted drug lord born on December 7, 1952. He was a high-ranking member of the Gulf Cartel and was involved in drug trafficking and managing shipments between the U.S. and Mexico. After being convicted of drug-related charges in 1979, Garza Rendón joined the Federal Judicial Police in 1985 and later the Gulf Cartel. He surrendered to U.S. authorities in 2001, becoming an informant before being released in 2009. He was later re-arrested in Mexico.
