José G. Saucedo Mendoza was a prominent Mexican Anglican bishop who served from 1958 to 1997. He was the first bishop of Cuernavaca and the inaugural archbishop of the Anglican Church of Mexico. His leadership expanded the church from one missionary diocese to five dioceses, achieving independence within the Anglican Communion in 1995. Saucedo championed women's access to the priesthood and oversaw the ordination of the first female priest in Latin America. He was consecrated bishop in 1958 in Mexico City.
