José Argüelles (January 24, 1939 - March 23, 2011) was an American author and artist associated with the New Age movement. Alongside his wife, Loden Argüelles, he co-founded the Planet Art Network and the Foundation for the Law of Time. He received a Ph.D. in art history and aesthetics from the University of Chicago and taught at various colleges. Notably, he was involved in the first Earth Day celebration in 1970, organized the Harmonic Convergence in 1987, and created the Dreamspell calendar in 1990, focusing on consciousness and its global implications.
