José Antonio Cuburu Cano, known as El Perro, was a Mexican football player born on June 23, 1925, in Orizaba, Veracruz. He played in an offensive position and began his professional career in the Mexican Primera División with A.D.O., later moving to Puebla FC. He was the younger brother of Martín Cuburu, a league champion with España, and the older brother of Samuel Cuburu, who also played for Puebla FC and participated in the 1950 World Cup. An injury prevented José from realizing his own World Cup dream in 1950.
