As a landscape artist, he humorously transforms fallen tree trunks into imaginative figures, creating wooden sculptures from local materials. Rønnau has exhibited widely in Denmark with solo shows, including at Randers Kunstmuseum in 1984 and Nikolaj Church in Copenhagen in 1986. His innovative works also include the landscape and IT art project 'Vinterens Hjerte' in True Skov near Aarhus.
