Jorge Saldivia Gil was a Venezuelan politician and architect-engineer, born on January 2, 1912, in Humocaro Alto, Lara State. He served as the first general secretary of the Communist Party of Venezuela and was a prominent leader in the student movement known as the 1928 Generation. Saldivia Gil played a critical role in advocating for political change and student rights during a tumultuous period in Venezuelan history before his death on November 21, 1938, in Maracaibo, Zulia State.
