Jorge David Glas Espinel, born on September 13, 1969, in Guayaquil, is an Ecuadorian electrical engineer and politician. He served as Vice President of Ecuador from May 24, 2013, to January 6, 2018, having been elected in the 2013 presidential elections and re-elected in 2017. He held several positions in Rafael Correa's government, including President of the Solidarity Fund, Minister of Telecommunications, and Coordinator Minister of Strategic Sectors. He was replaced after being detained for over 90 days due to judicial proceedings related to illicit association in the Odebrecht case.
