Jón Jónsson frá Ljárskógum (March 28, 1914 – October 7, 1945) was an Icelandic poet and singer. Born in Ljárskógum, Laxárdal, he graduated from Menntaskólinn á Akureyri, where he helped establish the MA quartet. He later moved to Reykjavik and then to Ísafjörður. He died of tuberculosis at Vífilsstaðaspítali. Many of Jón's poems became hugely popular songs, including 'Káta Víkurmær/Fornar ástir,' 'Sestu hérna hjá mér,' and 'Húmar að kveldi.' A selection of his poems was published in 1976.
