He co-founded Wolfspeed in Durham, North Carolina, and served as its chief technology officer. Palmour was honored as a Fellow of the IEEE in 2013 due to his significant work in developing and commercializing wide-bandgap semiconductor devices. His expertise played a crucial role in advancing semiconductor technology. He passed away at the age of 62 on November 13, 2022.
