John Webster (May 25, 1925 – December 27, 2014) was a British mycologist at the University of Exeter. He worked there from 1969 to 1990 and trained numerous leading mycologists, including Lynne Boddy, Nicholas Money, and Alan Rayner. His research primarily focused on imperfect fungi and water molds. Webster co-authored the book 'Introduction to Fungi' with Roland Weber, which became a standard reference in mycology, with its third edition published in 2007.
