John Thiessen (1906–1978) was a Saskatchewan farmer and political figure known for representing Shellbrook in the Legislative Assembly as a member of the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation from 1956 to 1964. Born in Aberdeen, he was involved in local governance, serving as secretary-treasurer and reeve. Thiessen also contributed to community health initiatives and trade organizations. Despite a notable political career, he faced election defeats, notably running unsuccessfully for the Rosthern seat in 1952 and losing reelection in 1964.
