John Barrie Pook, born on February 2, 1942, in Neath, South Wales, is a distinguished British poet. He grew up in Gowerton and attended Gowerton Boys Grammar School, later earning master's degrees in English from Queens' College, Cambridge, and in Linguistics from Bangor University. Pook has published two poetry collections: 'That Cornish Facing Door' (1975) and 'Needing the Experience' (2008). In 1971, he received the Eric Gregory Award for Poetry and has made contributions to various poetry magazines and anthologies. He currently resides in the South of France.
