John Christian Petersen (1948-2018) was a Faroese entrepreneur and former politician. He was educated as a shipbuilder and machinist and was involved in his own business as a shipbuilder before becoming a contractor. Petersen served in local government and was a member of the Lagtinget, during which he held the position of Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture twice. His political career ended following serious criminal allegations, leading to his resignation from ministerial roles and imprisonment. He maintained his innocence regarding the allegations throughout his life.
