John Noble MacKenzie was a New Zealand flying ace in the RAF during WWII, credited with nine enemy aircraft kills. Born in Otago, he joined the RAF in 1937 and flew in key battles like Dunkirk and the Battle of Britain. He served in Singapore and commanded No. 14 Squadron before returning to the UK. MacKenzie transferred to the RNZAF in 1944, then rejoined the RAF until his retirement in 1957. He later ran an automotive dealership in New Zealand until his death in 1993.
