John Morressy was an American fantasy and science fiction writer and a professor of English literature at the University of New Hampshire. Born on December 8, 1930, in New York, he authored more than 25 novels and numerous short stories. Early in his writing career, he focused primarily on science fiction, but later shifted to writing mainly fantasy. He graduated from St. John's University and New York University.
