John McKay (born November 11, 1938) is a Canadian-born American pianist and music educator. He has performed extensively across North America and Europe, featuring contemporary works by American and Canadian composers. McKay is recognized for his world premieres of compositions by Mortimer Barron, Clermont Pépin, and Harry Somers, among others. A skilled chamber musician and accompanist, he has collaborated with his contralto wife, Sara Hayden. Additionally, he co-founded the Minnesota Valley Sommarfest in 1989, contributing significantly to the music community.
