Sir John Cowdery Kendrew (born March 24, 1917 - died August 23, 1997) was a British biochemist and crystallographer. He was awarded the Order of the British Empire and became a Fellow of the Royal Society. Kendrew shared the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1962 with Max Perutz for their work at the Cavendish Laboratory on determining the structure of hemoglobin-containing proteins. His contributions to the field of protein structure provided significant insights into biochemical processes.
