Rev. John Ignatius Jenkins, C.S.C. is an American Catholic priest and academic leader who has served as the 17th president of the University of Notre Dame since July 1, 2005. He was previously vice-president and associate provost at the university. Jenkins was appointed president-elect in April 2004 and has since been re-elected for four consecutive terms, with his latest term beginning in 2019. He plans to step down at the end of the 2023–2024 academic year.
