He has won numerous radio awards and was the main presenter for the Nine O'Clock News from 1981 to 1987 and for BBC TV news. Since 1987, he has hosted the award-winning BBC Radio 4 program Today and is the current host of the quiz show Mastermind on BBC Two. Humphrys is known for his tenacious and straightforward interviewing style, often leaving politicians embarrassed after tough live radio interviews.
