John David Hold is a former English footballer, born on 28 March 1948, who primarily played as a forward. He started his professional career in 1965 with Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic and played for several clubs including Crewe Alexandra and Northampton Town, accumulating 131 Football League appearances until 1973. After a stint in non-league football with Margate and Ashford Town, he moved to Canada in 1975 to play for London City, where he stayed until his retirement in 1979.
