John Hanlon was a British sprinter born on December 18, 1905, in Portsmouth. He competed in the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics where he did not advance past the heats in the 400 meters. In 1930, he won a silver medal as part of the English 4x110 yards relay team at the British Empire Games in Hamilton. Additionally, he was the English champion in the 220 and 440 yards in 1929, showcasing his sprinting abilities during his athletic career. He passed away on October 17, 1983, in Morpeth.
