John Henry Ahern was a British model railway enthusiast and photographer, born on July 9, 1903, and known for pioneering scenic model railways. He was one of the first to incorporate a model railway within a landscape. His work in the hobby was recognized as fundamental, with his 4mm layout 'Madder Valley' preserved at the Pendon Museum. Ahern was also a passionate photographer and became a fellow of the Royal Photographic Society in 1932. He passed away on December 24, 1961.
