John Olivier de Villiers was a South African first-class cricketer born on February 28, 1930, in Cape Town. He studied at University College, Oxford, where he played for Oxford University from 1951 to 1952, making eight appearances and scoring 237 runs with a top score of 81. After his studies, he returned to South Africa to play for Orange Free State in the 1953/54 season, where he had three first-class matches against New Zealanders, Border, and Transvaal, scoring a total of 110 runs. He passed away on July 3, 1969.
