John Charles de la Poer Beresford, 7th Marquess of Waterford, was an Irish peer and soldier born on 6 January 1901. He was the son of the 6th Marquess and Lady Beatrix, and educated at Winchester College and Trinity College, Cambridge. He became a Lieutenant in the Royal Regiment of Horse Guards in 1924. Tragically, he died at the young age of 33 in a shooting accident at Curraghmore House. He was married to Juliet Mary Lindsay and had two sons, one of whom succeeded him as the 8th Marquess.
