John Stuart Beer is an Anglican priest born on March 15, 1944. He was educated at Roundhay School and Pembroke College, Oxford. After a career in advertising, he was ordained in 1972 and served as a curate, chaplain, and rector in various parishes before becoming the Archdeacon of Huntingdon in 1997. In 2004, he was appointed Archdeacon of Ely and served until his retirement in 2014.
