Johann Faber (1902-1979) was a Dutch visual artist and a member of the artist collective De Ploeg. He employed various techniques including brush sketches, lithographs, etchings, watercolors, and oil paints. Faber became an aspirant member of De Ploeg in 1922 and was fully accepted in 1933. He participated in over 80 exhibitions throughout his career and his work evolved from modern styles like Jugendstil and naturalism to a more robust style characterized by large strokes reminiscent of frescoes. His themes often depicted the landscapes of Northern Drenthe and Groningen.
