John McEwan was a Scottish footballer, born on 16 September 1903, who played as a left half. He spent twelve seasons at Kilmarnock, having joined the team in 1923 after playing for junior teams Darvel and Irvine Meadow. McEwan became a prominent player for Kilmarnock, participating in their 1929 Scottish Cup victory and their runners-up finish in 1932. Over his career, he made 395 appearances in various competitions and was part of the club's first North American tour in the summer of 1930.
