Frei Joaquim Carreira das Neves (1934-2017) was a Portuguese Franciscan priest and theologian. He was educated at the Pontifical University Antonianum and the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome, and at the Flagellation Biblical Institute in Jerusalem. He obtained his doctorate from the Pontifical University of Salamanca. He served as a professor at the Faculty of Theology at the Catholic University of Portugal and retired in 2005. He passed away at the age of 82 at the Seminary of Luz in Lisbon.
