Jóanis Nielsen, born September 17, 1954, in Sandavágur, is a Faroese editor, teacher, and former politician. Initially apprenticed as a carpenter, he transitioned to banking and worked as a branch manager for Føroya Banki. He later served as a financial assistant in the Faroese Social Department. Since 2013, he has been the editor of his own online newspaper. Nielsen has held various political roles, including serving on the Sandavágur municipal council and as chairman of the intermunicipal cooperation on Vágar. He was also a member of the Faroese Parliament from 1998 to 2003.
