Joan Constance Anne Henry was an English novelist, playwright, and screenwriter born on April 8, 1914. Known for her semi-autobiographical works, her most recognized pieces stemmed from her time in prison after being jailed for passing a fraudulent cheque. Her notable works include 'Who Lie in Gaol,' which was adapted into the film 'The Weak and the Wicked,' and 'Yield to the Night,' which inspired a film starring Diana Dors. Henry passed away on December 16, 2000.
