Jirō Nanʼe (南江治郎) was a Japanese poet and puppetry researcher born on April 3, 1902, in Kameoka, Kyoto Prefecture. He worked for NHK from 1934, rising through the ranks to serve as director of planning, programming director, and managing director, and became an advisor in 1953. He was involved with various cultural and artistic associations, including being a permanent director of the Japan Poets Club and a member of the Japan Writers' Association. He also served as a director of the International Theatre Institute's Japanese Center.
