Jim Foley was an Irish footballer born on March 19, 1914. He played for Cork, helping them win the 1934 FAI Cup. Foley later joined Celtic, though he mainly served as a backup goalkeeper, making only six first team appearances. He moved to Plymouth Argyle in December 1936. Foley earned seven caps for the Irish Free State from 1934 to 1936, debuting in a high-scoring match against Belgium. His distinctive red hair earned him the nickname 'Fox' Foley. He passed away on October 14, 1952.
