Jewgienij Smirnow was a prominent Soviet and Ukrainian theatre and film actor, recognized for his significant contributions to the performing arts. Born on December 28, 1947, in Gorky, he graduated from the Ufa State School of Arts in 1967. Smirnow served in the Black Sea Fleet Theatre before performing at the Sevastopol Theatre. He spent the later part of his career in Kyiv, acting at the Lesya Ukrainka Theatre, and was a member of the Omsk Academic Drama Theatre from 1996 until his passing on January 27, 2016. He was honored as a People's Artist of Russia in 2003.
