Jesús Martínez Rentería, popularly known as 'Palillo', was a Mexican comic actor and businessman born on April 13, 1913, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, and died on November 11, 1994, in Mexico City. He gained fame for his political satire performances, which often resulted in his arrest. He is considered the king of 'carpa' theater and influenced many great Mexican comedians, including Mario Moreno 'Cantinflas' and Germán Valdés 'Tin Tan'. His work played a significant role in the evolution of comedic theater in Mexico.
