Jerzy Tawłowicz (1952-2012) was a Polish poet, graphic artist, and photographer, who had a deep connection with Zakopane from childhood. He became a professional Tatra guide in 1977 and debuted as a poet in 1989 in the quarterly 'Podtatrze'. He was a founding member of the revived Zakopane Literary Club in 1993 and served as a secretary from 1995 to 2005. Tawłowicz contributed articles and columns to 'Dziennik Polski' and was involved in local amateur theater groups, authoring many poetic theater scripts. He was buried in Zakopane's New Cemetery.
