Jerry Rusch, also known as Jerry Rush, was an American jazz trumpeter born on May 8, 1943. He studied at the University of Minnesota before serving in an Army Reserve band. After moving to Los Angeles in 1966, he collaborated with numerous prominent musicians, such as Gerald Wilson and Ray Charles, and performed in Europe from 1982 to 1984 with Joe Haider's orchestra. He was active as a sideman on various recordings. Rusch passed away on May 5, 2003, in Las Vegas, just three days shy of his 60th birthday.
