Jeremías Ferens, born Eliseo Ferens on December 29, 1962, in Papanduva, Brazil, is the Metropolitan Archbishop of Aspendos and Eparch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in South America. He studied theology and philosophy, became a monk in 1988, and was ordained a priest shortly after. He served various parishes in Brazil and was appointed apostolic administrator before becoming a bishop in 1993. In 1995, he joined the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople. In 2008, he was designated as Metropolitan Archbishop.
