Jens Thomas Thommesen (1902–1975) was a prominent Norwegian businessman and politician, serving as the director of Handelshuset Thommesen - Smith and as mayor of Arendal from 1948 to 1967. Born in Arendal to Thor and Birgithe Thommesen, he was the only son among three siblings. Thommesen had two marriages, first to Céline Jeanne Hellesen with whom he had two sons, and later to Sigrid Platou with whom he had two daughters. In 1969, he became chairman at Arendals Søforsikringsselskab.
