Jean-Yves Jolif was a French Dominican friar and translator, born on January 25, 1923, in Rennes, France. He was known for his work in translating ancient Greek texts. Jolif entered the Dominican order in 1942 and became a priest in 1949. He served as a professor of theology at the Université catholique de Lyon. He is notable for co-authoring a translation and comprehensive commentary on Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics, along with his fellow Dominican, René Antoine Gauthier. He passed away on July 5, 1979, in Lyon.
