Jean-Thierry Mathurin is a French serial killer born on December 27, 1965, in Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni, French Guiana. He was an accomplice of Thierry Paulin, with whom he committed several murders of elderly people between October and November 1984, when he was not yet 19 years old. He was arrested in December 1987 after Paulin's confession implicated him in the first series of murders. After Paulin's death from AIDS on April 16, 1989, Mathurin was tried alone in December 1991 and sentenced to life imprisonment. He received parole in January 2012 after 21 years in detention.
