Nioussérê Kalala Omotunde, born Jean-Philippe Corvo, was a notable Guadeloupean writer, Egyptologist, and expert in classical African mathematics, born on 19 July 1967 and passing on 14 November 2022. He established the Anyjart Institute of African History in Guadeloupe, along with additional institutes in Canada, Guyana, Martinique, and Haiti. Omotunde dedicated himself to empowering Africans, especially Black youth in the diaspora, by educating them about their history, origins, and ancestors. His work was significantly influenced by the scholar Cheikh Anta Diop.
