Jean Omer was a Belgian musician and bandleader known for his contributions to swing and dance music. He played clarinet and tenor saxophone, forming his first ensemble in 1936. By the late 1930s, he created a swing-oriented orchestra that performed in Belgium. Omer recorded music during the early 1940s and had notable collaborations with arrangers like Peter Packay and Benny Carter. He also managed the Brussels nightclub Bœuf sur la Toit until 1967, continuing to promote jazz until 1982. Despite his early prominence, Omer's popularity waned in the post-war period.
