He is recognized particularly for composing 'C'était une histoire d'amour' for Édith Piaf, with lyrics by Henri Contet, and 'Il ne faut pas briser un rêve', performed by Jean Sablon and Lucienne Delyle. In 1938, he also acted in the short film 'Quand le cœur chante.' He became a French national in 1940.
