Jean H. Godden (born October 10, 1931) is a former Seattle City Council member, initially elected in 2003 and serving until 2015. She chaired multiple committees, including the Libraries, Utilities, and Center Committee, and was Vice Chair of the Parks and Neighborhood Committee. Godden holds a degree in editorial journalism from the University of Washington and is known for her acclaimed column in The Seattle Times. She was re-elected in 2007, defeating Joe Szwaja with 71.21% of the vote, but lost her seat in the 2015 district elections.
