Jay C. Dunlap is an American chronobiologist and photobiologist known for his important research on circadian systems in the fungus Neurospora and mammalian models. He has contributed significantly to understanding the frq and wc clock genes related to circadian rhythms. As the Nathan Smith Professor of Molecular and Systems Biology, he has played a key role in mentoring students and postdoctoral fellows, many of whom are now successful academics.
