Javier Jáuregui was a Mexican lightweight boxer born on September 5, 1973, in Guadalajara, Jalisco. He gained fame for winning the vacant International Boxing Federation world title on November 22, 2003, against the previously undefeated American Leavander Johnson by unanimous decision. Jáuregui retired from boxing in 2010 and tragically passed away at the age of 40 on December 11, 2013, due to a stroke.
