Jaume Miranda i Canals, born in Barcelona in 1950, is a prominent Catalan industrial engineer and cartographer. He served as the director general of the Institut Cartogràfic de Catalunya (ICC) from 1982 to 2014 and then as the director general of the subsequent Institut Cartogràfic i Geològic de Catalunya until February 2017. His early work at the Centre de Càlcul of the Universitat Politècnica de Barcelona laid foundational groundwork for cartography in Catalonia. He was honored as Doctor honoris causa by the University of Lleida in 2013.
