Jaume Canyameres i Cortàzar was a prominent Catalan economist and cultural promoter born on February 13, 1931, in Terrassa. He played a significant role as a historian, art and culture advocate, and social rights defender. Notably, he co-founded the first Catalan bookstore in Terrassa and organized several cultural events. Canyameres served as a city councilor in the late 1970s and 1990s and published works on local history after his retirement. He was recognized with the Creu de Sant Jordi award in 2009 and the Medalla d'Honor de la Ciutat de Terrassa in 2012. He passed away on January 29, 2017.
