Jaume Bassó Barberan was a Catalan basketball player born on September 19, 1929, in Badalona. He began playing basketball at Júlia Minguell School and was recruited by Penya in 1944. He debuted with the first team in the 1947-48 season and retired in 1959, winning five Spanish championships during his career. He represented Spain internationally 13 times, participating in the first basketball World Cup in 1950 and winning the Mediterranean Games title in 1955.
